Overview

The municipal town, Lanjarón is situated in the western area of the mountainous district Alpujarras in the Granada province in Spain. This is located at a distance of 50 KM from Granada in the heart of the National Park of Sierra Nevada and is this region's gateway. It is popular for the mineral water and the first bottled water company was established in this place. The water here has curative properties and the spas here are very popular. History

A ruined castle built by Moors and a rocky outcrop overlook this town. As per the legend, the Moorish ruler of this town jumped from the tower of the castle when he found that the Christian army that was led by Fernando, the Catholic King was on the verge of victory.
