Hank Williams Hank was born Hiram King in 1923, and is considered one of the best if not the best C. Music singer, his legendary status was only reinforced when he died at only 29. He released "I can't help it" in 1951 with Howling at the moon. Hank had 11 number 1 hits and his influence over this genre is widespread and still growing. Hank can be considered the backbone.

LeAnn Rimes born 1982, is a cross genre artist, and although not considered by everyone to be a true Country singer, her single "how do I live" became very successful and the longest running single in the top 100 billboard, although the single is not necessarily considered pure Country by Country purists, her cross genre songs are very commercial, enjoyed even by those who don't enjoy Country.

Patsy Cline was born September 8th 1932 and enjoyed success as a Country Music singer, crossing over into Pop, and is considered one of the most successful artists. "I Fall to Pieces," was released in 1961, and climbed to number 1 in the Country charts.

There are many other Country Music love songs, others perhaps that sold more singles but didn't have quite the same influence over the genre, crossing the great divide into popular music, as well as impressing diehard fans - something that is notoriously hard to achieve.

It is all about pain and frequently about love, whether it's loss of love, or unrequited love, just like many pop songs, but the Country songs tell a story, and the heartfelt words are often enough to bring a tear to even the strongest eye.
