Spain is also known for its wines, including the rioja , made in the northern province; sherry, a fortified wine that may be dry or sweet; and sangria, wine mixed with soda and fruit juice. A wide variety of snacks or appetizers popularly called Tapas are widely popular in the Spanish cuisines. The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation because people are not so focused upon eating an entire meal that is set before them.
