Volando por Costa Rica

As you may have heard, there is a "new Jaco," thanks to a thriving Jaco real estate market, a flood of foreign investment capital and increased interest in infrastructure to and from the country's major epicenters. This year the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce had good news about Jaco Beach real estate at its annual progress meeting. They spoke about newly paved roads in Garabito, Jaco, Hermosa and Herradura. Jaco's Main Street, Calle Pastor Diaz and Club Del Sol all received new resurfacing this year. The much-anticipated Caldera Highway -- which will cut 45 minutes off the drive between the airport and Central Pacific Coast area -- found funding and is set for completion in 2010. The bridge connecting Jaco Beach real estate with Quepos should be finished in 2009. The Chamber of Commerce is also looking to improve the drinking water treatment plant and add another municipal sewer treatment plant as well.

In May 2008, the 85,000 square foot state-of-the-art Hospital de Oso opened its doors, much to the excitement and clamor of expats. The new Puntarenas hospital features multiple treatment facilities, including emergency rooms, pediatrics, neurology, OB/GYN and obstetrics centers. According to the World Health Organization, the nationally-funded health care is 1/10th the cost of comparable care in the US, and Costa Rican life spans are slightly longer! This celebrated Jaco real estate is conveniently located near the country's third international airport that's now underway.

As for beach property, the Chamber talked about beach cleaning efforts, praised the new beach combing technology that recently arrived, making the sand baby powder soft. New concrete trash cans have contributed to beach cleanliness almost overnight. They noted that surveying for the new $3 million Jaco Boardwalk has officially begun. Additionally, 500 new police officers will be patrolling Jaco beach real estate to ensure tourist safety.

In terms of Jaco real estate development, The Wyndham Hotel Chain has announced their plan to have a five-star resort / condominium finished by 2010. Guests will enjoy a rooftop sky bar, beach-side restaurant and a health / fitness center. Rumor has it, Four Seasons has a Tiger Woods golf course and marina also in the works. AOL's Steve Case, alongside tennis stars Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, will be investing $800 million to erect a world-class resort in Jaco Beach real estate that adds two hotels, homes, condos and a tennis training center.
